Toward Wireless Human-Machine Collaboration in the 6G Era
Published in arXiv preprint arXiv:2602.22662, 2026
The next industrial revolution, Industry 5.0, will be driven by advanced technologies that foster human-machine collaboration (HMC). This paper introduces wireless human-machine collaboration (WHMC) as central to Industry 5.0, examining how 6G wireless networks can enable flexible, scalable, and low-cost deployment of geographically distributed HMC systems. The work surveys the technical challenges and opportunities in integrating 6G communication capabilities with human-machine collaborative systems, addressing latency, reliability, and scalability requirements for future intelligent industrial applications.
